How to Make Good Photos

Photo techniques and composition

Course Code: U1811

The humble camera has come a long way with technology, smaller cameras to put in your pocket or bag, point and shoot to the larger ones and of course the mobile phone. They can take shots of the moon or close up shots of the flowers in your front garden. Are you seeing whatever you want to photograph in the correct way? The Creative Composition of Photography is an art “What to put in a photo” and most of all “What to leave out.” In my view it’s better getting it correct in camera from the start than spending time in front of the computer fixing what you have spent hours taking. Light plays a great part in photography. How do we make light work to our advantage? The
camera will see far more than you think. There are opportunities to participate in talks on equipment, computer photo storage as well as photo walks, photo sessions in the field, etc. The challenge is there for members to get out and use their equipment while trying out and learning to understand photographic techniques with their camera. Come and join our group.
