These sessions are background briefings to current issues internationally and follows on from Thursday’s sessions last year. However, attendance at last year’s session is not a pre-requisite. This course will examine issues of international concerns on a weekly basis. Topics to be covered can be tailored to suit the wishes and interests of the group where possible, however the course may include some or all of the following: The rise of civilisation, the South-China Sea crisis in 2019, a Brexit update, the rise of populism and China vs the US. The class format will be based on a background lecture accompanied by a Power-Point presentation. Tone – informal and chatty with lots of audience input.
